How much can I save?
The savings depend on the improvements being installed, the heating system and the current insulation standards. The occupancy of the property also has an impact. As a guide you should realise savings of around 25% by insulating your roof space, 20% insulating the walls and 10% through floor insulation. Heating system savings vary much more, for example the savings from upgrading your gas boiler are not as high as converting from an electric system. Energy Advice Services can provide accurate bill saving estimates via desktop and site surveys (OFGEM free of charge where you qualify for ECO3 funding).
Where does the money come from?
You pay for this through your electricity bill via a tax called "the Green Levy". the charge is applied to all electricity bills throughout the UK and managed via the OFGEM ECO3 scheme. If you qualify and haven't accessed the scheme or are looking for further improvements contact us now.
How do I apply for a grant?
We have a simple process to check if your eligible. All we need are a few personal details to confirm whether you qualify. With the criteria opening up to a larger proportion of the UK and local authority schemes there has never been a better time to apply.
Who qualifies for a grant?
If you are in receipt of a government benefit or tax credit then you're sure to qualify. Local authorities have also been given permission to qualify those not in receipt f a benefit or tax credit, based on 3 criteria; low income (each council area has different levels), high heating costs (if your property has solid walls and no gas central heating you will meet this criteria), and vulnerable to cold due to an illness or medical condition made worse by cold e.g. arthritis or depression. The criteria may be confusing but contact us to help you make sense of the scheme and access the fund.
What is covered under the scheme?
In short, insulation upgrades, heating installations and renewable energy. Contact us now to get advice on what installations may be available in your home.
What is the difference between ECO 1, 2 and 3?
The scheme has been around for over 12 years now and is subject to changes made by central government on a regular basis. When a major change is made then the scheme name may change to reflect the changes made. As experts in ECO we're here to help you navigate the changes.
Is it a scam?
No! it's not a scam, you can check the scheme on OFGEMs website. Although there have been some reported issues with installers within the scheme, Energy Advice Services Ltd is your impartial partner, here to advise you on the scheme and manage your project from start to finish.
